A little late with our April newsletter but it's here and it's a good one! Here is what we got up to...
A movie day at the Hart Hotel
Our friends at the Hart Hotel Shoreditch invited us to test out their brand new cinema room, how could we say no?! We chose the film 'Up' and arrived to popcorn and cookies which ofcourse went down a treat.
Day trip to the Horniman Museum
We went along on the overground with some of the kids club, and some of the adults group to the Horniman Museum! We went into the Aquariam, Brick Dinos Room and the Butterfly house. It was such a sunny and lovely day for it.
Universal Volunteer Day!
A group from the Universal Pictures team came and volunteered for a day with us, and the energy they brought was absolutely incredible. Every member of the adults group had the best day - we went to All Star Lanes Bowling on Brick Lane. Naz was in a bowling lane with a group of guys and was in his absolute element! Philip got some photo booth pics and Tony went to the bar for a (non alcolohic) pint! Robert got a full strike and everyone ended the afternoon with (huge!!!) ice cream sundaes. All of this PLUS they helped to organise our cupboards and create some lovely pieces of art.
First Aid with the adult group
Our dear friend and trustee, Ann, came in for a few hours of basic First Aid training with the Rainbow Club. Everyone had a great time and hopefully learnt some useful skills too!
Debbie and Philips Tropical Birds
Debbie and Philip both created these incredible tropical birds with watercolours and pastels! We love the vibrancy and creativity in these and their concentration on finishing them was amazing.
Name Writing Sessions
We had a lovely session with the adults practicing how to write their names. Some of them may have forgotten by now so we plan to do top up sessions each month, however they all did brilliantly and this activity really helps with their confidence and also allows them to sign their own artwork.
Charity Abseil
To raise money for Arts for All, Charli is doing the UK's highest free fall abseil from the Olympic Parks Acelormittal Orbit. We are aiming to raise £1,000 and would appreciate any donations big or small! You can donate over on JustGiving: https://www.justgiving.com/page/charli-artsforall
